P.A.L.S.
About Us
The PALS program, entitled Participation, Awareness, Learning and Sharing, pairs Asian/Pacific American college students with Asian/Pacific American children in the community. There is one monthly program for all PALS participants, and students are encouraged to meet with their pals at least once more each month and contact their pals on a weekly basis. Past programs included: hula demonstrations and "lessons", cultural arts and crafts, Fun Olympics, and trips to "Fit for Fun."
The goals of the program embrace participation of the students and children in cultural learning and social activities, encourages interactions between other Asian/Pacific American children and adults, and animates a sense of community and a wealth of strong friendships.
