This Asian/Pacific American Cultural Center Advocate Program provides opportunities for student volunteers to challenge social construction about diverse identities and challenge pervasive myths about the Asian/Pacific Islander Americans. Student Advocates will use personal stories, media, and dialogue, to inform and educate about complex issues surrounding diversity in the United States. In teams of two to three (Asian/Pacific Islander American students and Ally students), Student Advocates will present to groups at Colorado State University or communities within the state of Colorado. Advocates are trained volunteers and will present from their personal perspective which is diverse like the presenters.
